Fenton's mother is both a victim and the cause of Fenton's behavior. Apparently a motivational speech given by McGuirk at the end of "The Party" takes Trudy's parenting abilities to a new level, as Fenton is never quite so whiny again. Trudy has the essence of a 1950s mother whose trying to do everything right. Oddly enough we never see Fenton's dad, though nothing is there to imply they got divorced or anything else.

Shore Leave - Is involved in most of the Brendon at Fenton's storyline
Curses - No lines, but shows up angry about Brendon's movie
